Badger Thunder Clinch Tie for Badger Conference Title

The Badger Thunder guaranteed themselves a share of the Badger Conference title, when they swept the Sun Prairie Co-op Cougars on Tuesday night.

The Thunder won the first meeting between the two clubs on December 19th by one goal.  This time they won the game 3-1.

Baraboo scored the first goal of the game at the 11:25 mark of the first period.  Amara Miescke scored with Amanda Reimann and Kim Jaworski being credited with assists.

Badger Thunder increased their lead to two in the second period.  Kelsey Jensen scored with Reimann collecting her second assist with 6:56 showing on the clock.

Hannah Schreiber scored a shorthanded goal 3:01 into the final period.  Lindsey Carlson got the Sun Prairie Co-op Cougars on the board with an assists from Josie Johnson with 9 minutes remaining in the game.  However, that was the only shot they were able to get past senior Ayla Jacobsen.

Jacobsen finished the game with 32 saves, while Jenna Beilke-Skoug had 14 saves for Sun Prairie.

Both teams have one conference game remaining.  Badger Thunder will travel to Reedsburg to play the South Central Freeze on February 9th.  Sun Prairie will host the Middleton Co-op Lynx on February 13th.
